CBM & Volumetric Weight Calculator

Calculate your shipment's cubic meter (CBM) volume and volumetric weight instantly. Essential for planning international air and sea freight.

UNDERSTANDING CBM

What is CBM and How is it Used?

CBM (Cubic Meter) is the universal measurement in freight forwarding used to calculate cargo space and shipping charges.

CBM Formula

CBM = Length × Width × Height (in meters). For example, a box of 100cm × 80cm × 60cm = 1.0m × 0.8m × 0.6m = 0.48 CBM.

Volumetric Weight

Airlines use volumetric weight to charge for light but bulky cargo. Formula: CBM × 167 = Volumetric Weight (kg). The chargeable weight is the greater of actual vs volumetric weight.

Sea Freight vs Air Freight

Sea freight pricing is primarily based on total volume (CBM), while air cargo is charged on the higher of gross weight or volumetric weight.
